Wind energyBy: Michael Bucci

  • Source: wind turbines
  • How is this energy converted/transferred into usable energy?
  1. It is transferred by turning wind energy to kinetic energy.
  2. The winds blow the rotor blades which turns the generator, therefore produces electricity for the home.
  • What are the advantages of using this source of energy?
  1. Helps move sail boats in the water
  2. Makes electricity for homes
  3. Cheap
  4. Easy to generate
  5. Wind has no cost to it
  6. Does not harm the environment
  7. Land is still able to be farmed
  8. Attract alot of curiouse people
  • What are the disadvantages of using this source of energy?
  1. It only works if you have good wind, speed, air density and the length of the rotor blades.
  2. Wind is unpredictable.
  3. Good areas for wind farms are near coast and is very exspensive.
  4. Effect tv reception if near wind turbines.
